GIMS & Horizon feature image

Real estate auction platforms demand sub-second UI responsiveness. Existing designs failed under load — bid confirmations lagged, price feeds were opaque, and bidder confidence collapsed under peak traffic. GIMS needed a portal that could handle simultaneous bidders without UX failure.

Mapped the critical user journey: pre-auction research, bid registration, live bidding, and post-auction settlement. Identified that bid confirmation latency above 800ms caused bidders to submit duplicate bids — creating legal complications. Designed with a WebSocket-first mental model.

Built a high-contrast, information-dense auction interface optimised for real-time feedback. Designed a persistent bid ticker, instant visual confirmation states, and clear hierarchy for live vs upcoming auctions. Introduced a "panic mode" emergency bid fallback for connectivity issues.

Zero duplicate bid incidents post-launch
Average bid confirmation feedback < 200ms perceived latency
Bidder confidence score (post-session survey) increased from 62% to 91%
Platform handled 340 concurrent bidders without UI degradation
